Hello, my name is Shannon Galyan. I teach K-8 Gifted and Talented classes and 7th Grade Keyboarding. I attended Harding University from 1991-1995. I met my husband, Jeff, at Harding and we were married August 21, 1993. I graduated from Harding University in 1995 with a B.A. in Secondary Business Education. After graduation, I could not find a teaching position in the Searcy area. I started working full-time for First National Bank in Searcy as a teller. In November of 1996, Jeff and I had our first son, Ty. I moved from a full-time position at the bank to a part-time position to be at home more with our son. In the fall of 1997, I came to Pangburn School and worked as a Teacher's Aide in the Elementary. I worked at Pangburn for one year and then received a full-time teaching position at Wilburn School. During my first year at Wilburn, I worked to get my certification to teach Gifted and Talented. I taught 7-12 Business Education classes and worked as the K-12 Gifted and Talented Coordinator and Teacher for 6 years (1998-2004). In 2003, Jeff and I had our second son, Tanner. In 2004, as Wilburn School was in the process of annexation, the Elementary GT position became available at Pangburn School. I applied and was hired to teach K-6 Gifted and Talented classes. I have been at Pangburn now for 12 years. During this time, I have been teaching K-8 GT classes and 7th Grade Keyboarding. I have also had the opportunity to teach 8th grade Career Orientation and I  am actively involved in our school's FCA program.
